Wrapping up the Semester
Overall, the semester was another great experience and such a blessing. Not everyone has the opportunity to attend college due to various issues. Our family worked in the fields with various agricultural crops. Our mom and uncle have enlightened us with the type of work they did at a very early age, even to the point where they're education needed to be sacrificed. This is why my brother and I take our education very seriously and which is also why we're so driven to go above and beyond with almost every class assignment. Our family is very proud of us because they want us to get a good paying job to support a family. Personally out of all the professors that we've taken out of our college experience we have only two favorite professors that we've connected with and consider great friends. Peter Christenson is one of them and no offense to the other DTC professors, Peter is funny and easy to connect with on a friend to friend basis. Thanks again Peter for another great semester, excited to see you next semester, have a great winter break!
Website for Case Closed Narrative
This was another great experience using Dreamweaver and so much fun connecting it with our short film. It's been a while since I worked on Dreamweaver but as my brother and navigated through the coding matrix it slowly started to come back to us. Adding in the content was fun because it ties the website up and implementing a creative touch would make it more interesting to read. I could overhear that plenty of our classmates had trouble but it's understandable because Dreamweaver can get pretty complicated. Overall, it was very fun watching everyone's websites and how creative they got and the way they connected it with their short film's. Here is the link: http://tricity.wsu.edu/~johnny.garcia/

Newsletter for my English Class
For my English class I was asked to create a survey based on a topic that was controversial or occurring today. My survey that I created was discussing specifically children and technology such as tablets, cell phones, and video games. I decided to choose non-parents as my target audience because I know that parents will definitely have an opinion on this issue and I think it would be interesting to get the perspective of non-parents who will someday have children of their own. Once I reached the required number of participants for the survey I then had to gather all the results and create a newsletter in the form an IMRaD report. I also needed to create at least one graph to incorporate into the report why also analyzing it in my results section. Here is the PDF of the newsletter feel free to check it out: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B08RUN43U2jjZDN5ZmlsYTlIMUE/view?usp=sharing
The Art Center
After our class yesterday my brother and I wanted to check out the art gallery and were very amazed with all the pieces by Worth Griffin who was in Mexico when he created these pieces. No wonder when I stepped in I could feel that the pieces connected with my brother and I and our Hispanic roots. We've never been to Mexico so it was a treat to get a glimpse into parts of the towns Griffin was at and the people he saw. It would be really awesome one of these days to actually go to Mexico and see the area and connect with a lot of my family members who we've never met before. My dad has been to Mexico many times and has brought us some very cool stuff like belts and boots made of animal skins.

Poster for "Case Closed" Narrative
The poster for our narrative film is finally complete. The first step I did was gathering the images of each of the characters. My inspiration for creating the poster came from the Star Wars posters where they place the main characters of the film in a way that looks dramatic. I just simply edited the background from each of the characters and used the blur tool fix some minor edges. I then used a grid so that I could place the characters in a way that was easy for the viewer to scan. I also couldn't resist using the Star Wars font because I'm a fan of Star Wars and it looked right. I then placed text to give the movie some excitement by adding the motto, "The Force Will Prevail". Then I added the last two finishing touches which were the lightsaber, the background and the magnifying glass and this is the finished poster. Enjoy (:Interesting artist found while surfing the web
I was recently on Facebook the other day when I noticed a link that said "Is Social Media a Silent Marriage Killer?" Here is the link: https://unveiledwife.com/is-social-media-a-silent-marriage-killer/. My curiosity struck so I clicked on the link and I read the article and it was very enlightening even though I'm not married but I enjoy reading about relationships. In the article the writer included images from the artist Eric Pickersgill. The work was entitled "Removed" where the artist had the participant hold his or her device and Pickersgill would take it from them and then take a photograph. These images were so shocking because the images have truth in them in how they are displayed. It's sad that a lot of relationships and individuals can become disengaged with the world around them and with others. This may cause further problems because one may feel that the person checking their phone has more priority when hanging out with someone or when on a date. Website Experience
For both Doug's and Sena's classes we both were required to some way to display our work. For Doug we were required to create our website on word press and to get our own hosting. It wasn't to difficult since we worked on word press with Doug in the previous semester. It took a while and gathering all of my work was a hassle but it got completed. Here is the link to check out my website: http://www.johnnygarciaportfolio.org/
For Sena were also required to create a site on Dreamweaver which we would also end up putting up on filezilla. Creating this website was interesting because I learned a lot about coding and how it works. Once we completed our work we put it up on filezilla and presented it to our classmates. Here is the link: http://users.tricity.wsu.edu/~johnny.garcia/
I'm very excited to work with Dreamweaver again because it's been a while and since my brother and I have plenty to work with and connecting it to our narrative video will be very fun indeed.
